Those things you listed aren’t the result of feminism because the government that enforces those laws is distinctly anti-feminist and anti-equality. Those situations are the result of a patriarchal government and society and you’d realise that if you just thought about it for one fucking second. But in order to do that you’d have to remove your head from the depths of your ass, and we all know that’s not going to happen any time soon.

Show me any significant feminist initiative for the creation of male shelters. I can show you that feminists actually DID THEIR FUCKING BEST TO PREVENT THEIR CREATION. Erin Pizzey, the creator of the first DV shelters in the UK, found that about half of the women going to the shelter were abusive themselves, and concluded that male DV shelters are necessary. In response, feminists sent her bomb threats, murdered her dog to prove that they’re serious about the threats, etc.; in the end, she had to have all her mail forwarded through the police, and eventually left the UK because she feared for her life. Truly a movement for a better future, eh?

Show me a feminist initiative to put an end to female-on-male violence. I can show you how it’s feminists themselves who assume that whenever a man is abused, he must’ve done something to deserve it. I can show you high-profile feminist websites report that 70% of women have abused their partner, and gloat about it like it’s some kind of accomplishment.

Show me a feminist initiative for equal treatment before law. I can show you how feminists have gone as far as to oppose “innocent until proven guilty” because the current legal system doesn’t yield enough rape and abuse convictions to validate their victim complex. Although what with the lowering of the standards of evidence, it’s getting there. I can also show you how it’s mostly feminists who assert that men can’t be raped by women, because rape is somehow a tool of patriarchal oppression that women are incapable of.

Show me a feminist initiative that fights for giving men reproductive rights beyond complete abstinence (which, as we know from feminists, is not an acceptable choice) and a choice in parenthood. I will show you how feminists actively opposed the development of a male birth control pill, because “men cannot be trusted to take it” and “they didn’t fight for the right to decide when to have children to abdicate it”.

Show me a feminist initiative to discuss any kind of injustice affecting men. I will show you the three consecutive incidents at the University of Toronto, where feminists stormed the place, pulled the fire alarms, intimidated attendees, and generally did their fucking best to silence any kind of discussion because the symposium was about men’s rights.

Your preaching above means nothing because what feminism actually does is completely at odds with what you’re saying. So kindly take the blindfold off, open your eyes, leave the echo-chamber of lies and propaganda that your apparent news sources are, and TAKE A LOOK AT THE GODDAMN REAL WORLD. People are of course entitled to their own opinions. But I find it an odd stance to oppose gender equality and the liberation of women.

An offhand comment about being anti-feminist is sometimes because of a lack of knowledge and the portrayal of feminists in the media. But to actually be so invested in the issue that you have a blog devoted to it surely means something is morally lacking there?

I don’t know. I find it perplexing.

You would be correct only if feminism was actually making steps for equality… which is not what it’s doing. It SAYS it’s for equality, but actions speak far louder than words. What feminism does is:

perpetuate myths that present women as oppressed and men as oppressive (such as the wage gap myth, the persistent misconception that the vast majority of domestic abuse is committed by men, the “99% of rapists are men” claim that disregards that the law does not recognize female-on-male rape, etc.)
enforce legal provisions that marginalize men and privilege women (tender years doctrine, Duluth model of domestic abuse, VAWA, etc.)
exert legal, political and social pressure on dissenters to silence them so they can carry on with the above undisturbed (University of Toronto incidents, silencing critics of feminism in the media, etc.)

Feminism may have been about equality at some point, but contemporary feminism is nothing like that. Thus, when feminism started aiming for supremacy instead of equality, being anti-feminist became necessary for egalitarians.

Ever heard of facetiousness? Sarcasm, perhaps? Well, referring to myself as an oppressor was poking fun at the fact that Tumblr automatically considers any white male an oppressor. Likewise, my remark on getting to feel murderous hatred for Turks, Germans and Russians was echoing a view some people actually take seriously on here, namely that if a nation ever wronged you in the course of history, you get to take revenge on them even though you never experienced said atrocities.
